Intern Overview

On March 2, 2021, the Wisconsin State Golf Association (WSGA) announced that it would hire an intern in 2021 to spend the summer getting paid to play golf — 50 rounds in 10 weeks to be exact. The position generated significant buzz on social media as well as statewide and national media attention. Nationwide intern scouts had me as an early favorite to secure the position.

I quickly submitted my application and on May 18th of 2021, it was officially official, I am returning to the business of being an intern as a 41 year old man.

In July, August, and September of 2021, I shared my Wisconsin internship experience on my social media channels and on the official intern blog. Thanks to everyone that reached out and was a part of my magical Wisconsin journey. Thank you for helping me golf Wisconsin like it has never been golfed before.

I’ve long said that Wisconsin is the best state for public golf in the United States and I definitely proved it during the summer of 2021.

After playing golf on 75 Wisconsin courses in 49 days, my WSGA internship came to a close with an eagle putt on the very final hole. It took nearly 2 weeks for the celebrations to subside, but when they did, it was time to hand out some awards. Please enjoy the official WSGA internship awards ceremony.
