Even though this would be my third official visit to Erin Hills, my excitement level was still high. I had never stayed on the property before and I was looking forward to getting the full Erin Hills experience. I was scheduled for two nights in the lodge with a round on the championship course. Coming with that experience was unrestricted access to the new putting course, The Drumlin.

On the internship road, two nights at the same spot feels like an eternity and with Erin Hills as my backyard, I was one happy intern. After capturing some photos of the golf course, I rolled some putts on the Dremlin, hung out at the fire pit, and got a pizza at the Irish pub.
Over the course of my golf travels, I have found several impressions that only great courses are able to deliver. One of those impressions is my excitement level to play the golf course again. That level of eagerness is high at Erin Hills. To help explain my eagerness, please consider my thoughts as I walked off of the 18th green.
I have still yet to make a 2 on the 9th hole. I want another crack at it bad.
I wonder if can drive the 11th hole with a different wind?
I bet I can keep a wedge on #2. I should have played my drive further left.
#12 feels like Ireland. Man, I want to go back to Ireland
I bet I can reach the green in two on #14
What if they put the pin far left on #15?
How the hell did JT hit 3 wood 3 wood onto the 18th green?
A great golf course makes you ponder the possibilities, it delivers an exploratory feeling even on familiar ground, it demands further consideration after each attempt. With my 3rd trip around Erin Hills, I eagerly await a return visit to put these musings to rest.
