As the game of golf expands into other segments of the population, golfers will begin to enjoy the game for reasons outside of the typical traditions. Things like playing music on the golf course and walking the course barefoot are relatively new trends and are considered acceptable at more and more establishments.
My favorite emerging trend in golf is the rise of the short course. The good times associated with places like Bandon Preserve, The Horse Course, or The LInks at Terranea can be more powerful than a full round of golf. Golfers tend to focus on having fun with their friends and care less about score. It’s an easy way to enjoy the game.
My plea is a simple one, you should make more time to play short courses. Trust me, you will be a happier golfer because of it.
